Maritime Celebration

Saints Maritime Beer & Cider Festival proved a huge success with regular Beer Festival attendees and Ipswich Maritime visitors – with over 1000 people attending between Friday 18th – Sunday 20th August 2017. This Festival is now firmly back on the events calendar!

Beer&Co are also delighted to confirm that charitable partner ‘Home-Start in Suffolk‘ raised over £1500 during the weekend, thanks to income from entrance fees, sales of commemorative glasses and customer donations – with fundraising efforts going towards the local charities work with families in most need of support. Massive thanks go to all who volunteered over the weekend including representation from Ipswich Greyfriars Round Table, Fleximize and Ipswich CAMRA.

The Festival at St.Peters By The Waterfront showcased a range of outstanding craft ales and ciders from across the country + new beers from local brewers (drinks list below). And visitors voted for their favourite beer and cider, with Mary Celeste, an American IPA from Cabin Brewery in Suffolk selected as the Champion Beer. Runner-up was Raven Stout from Magpie Brewery in Nottingham, and third place went to Beer&Co Churchman, our own best bitter from Dove Street Brewery, Ipswich. The top three ciders were all from Snails Bank, Herefordshire, with Elderflower G&T in first place, Pig Ginger second and Mango third. Congratulations to the winners, and also to Val Olsen who’s voting card was selected at random and wins a complimentary £10 beer card at a future Beer&Co Festival.

The weekend also provided a platform for the brightest local musical talent supported by GrapevineLIVE, with West End Music Shop presenting Live Open Mic on Saturday and bands from local label Backwater Records performing Live Sessions throughout Sunday (list below).
