Beer Review – Hard not to down Magic Rock

Beer of the month, June 2017 – by Jake Overton

This months belter is GROWER OWNED, a 6% IPA brewed by the fantastic Huddersfield based Magic Rock – in collaboration with American hop supplier YCH Hops.

The classic combination of Citra, Mosaic and Simcoe hops lead the charge on this Juicy IPA, while London Ale III yeast adds a lovely soft and fruity aroma to the beer.

The Look: very pale orange with a tight white head.

The Aroma: tropical fruits with a savoury garlic edge, backed up with a sweet biscuit malt character

The Taste: hard not to down this one! Enough bitterness to keep you interested with peach and pineapple notes. A hint of biscuit comes through again and a savoury aftertaste you get from a hop like Simcoe.

Magic Rocks big 500ml can offerings have been glorious and Grower Owned is no exception.

Beer&Co will be bringing some of the UK’s finest craft beer to Saints Maritime Beer & Cider Festival, Ipswich from 18-20 August 2017. For more information about this and other Festivals throughout the year visit
