A Blue Weekend

The first Saints Beer & Blues Fest proved a massive hit with visitors thanks to some outstanding craft beer, real ales and ciders from across the country, and brilliant Blues performances from the regions most talented musicians (drinks list + music sets below).

The Festival at St Peter’s By The Waterfront, Ipswich, included a special Friday Night Blues gig presented by GrapevineLIVE.co.uk with host Stephen Foster, and outstanding open-mic sets throughout Saturday presented by West End Music Shop…plus Steve Langdon’s pop-up records turning vinyl throughout.

Visitors voted Paddington, a Pale Ale with lashings of marmalade from Watts & Co in Suffolk as the Festival’s Champion Beer. Runner-up was Green Path, an IPA from Burnt Mill, also Suffolk, and third place went to Derbyshire Brewery Muirhouse with their own Blueberry Porter. The top three ciders were all from Snails Bank, Herefordshire, with Rhubarb in first place, Fruitbat second and Orchard Dry in third. Congratulations to Mark Brands and Sue Chamberlain who’s voting card was selected at random. They win a complimentary £10 beer card each to a future Beer&Co Festival.

The festival also proved a very successful for charitable event partners ‘MUSICA’, with funds raised over the weekend supporting people of all ages disadvantaged by personal circumstances such as disability, ill health, poverty or isolation through music. Huge thanks goes to all who volunteered on behalf of Musica over the weekend including representatives from Ipswich Greyfriars Round Table, Britvic, LV= and Ipswich CAMRA.

We look forward to seeing you all at future Beer&Co events ..and do follow us on Facebook + register as a ‘Beer Fan‘ to receive our occasional newsletter with details of future activity and special offers.
